An Entertaining Life: Designing Town and Country Buy Now

Throughout the past year, Paolo Moschino, Philip Vergeylen, and the Design Studio have been working on many exciting interior design projects around the world, particularly within the hospitality sector. The intense creativity stimulated by the scope and scale of these projects has influenced several new designs that we are adding to the Paolo Moschino Fabric, Lighting, and Furniture Collections. We are very excited to present these Autumn/Winter introductions to the international design community.

Paolo Moschino has been creating fabrics for Nicholas Haslam Ltd. for more than two decades, carefully designing and curating the Paolo Moschino Fabric Collection. The line features dozens of designs—a wide variety of patterns, plains, stripes, and florals offered in a range of signature colors—and includes linens, velvets, silks, and cottons.

FABRICS
Jardin – Dark Green, Navy, Rust, and Sage
Our Jardin design is an exciting revival of an archival print. Working closely with our London-based fabric printers, Paolo created bold versions of the design in Dark Green, Navy, Rust, and Sage on an Ecru linen base cloth. This striking interpretation of a flower-and-trellis design has a contemporary look that Paolo has always had a fondness for, and the rich colourways offer a high-contrast effect perfect for upholstery, window treatments, and soft furnishings.

De La Tour in Green & Taupe on Nivelles – Light Natural
And because we love green so much, we developed a new Green & Taupe colourway for beloved De la Tour, which is printed on Nivelles – Light Natural, a new base cloth. This Light Natural linen is of the same quality as Nivelles – Oyster, but in a warm oatmeal tone—a muted, more modern take on one of our old favourites!

Our collection of plain fabrics is carefully curated for its versatility as well as to complement our exclusive designs and signature colourways. The colour palette and the range of fibers and textures combine to create a wonderful sense of understated luxury.

Dorset Herringbone – Brown, Caramel, Crimson and Olive Green
There are several woven herringbones in the Paolo Moschino Collection—each with distinctive textures and colourways. We have added four new colours to Dorset Herringbone, one of our larger scale herringbones, which is now offered in the deep, rich tones of Brown, Caramel, Crimson, and Olive Green to complement other fabrics in the line. Woven at our mill in Belgium, Dorset Herringbone is extremely versatile and well suited to upholstery, window treatments, and soft furnishings; its lustrous sheen catches the light beautifully when the fabric is draped and gathered.

Arezzo Velvet – Celadon
A new fabric, Arezzo Velvet – Celadon, has been added to the colour offerings of Arezzo Velvet, an extremely popular linen velvet. Celadon joins Bracken, a darker green, and a range of six other earth tones and jewel-tone blues.

Leuven Linen – Celadon/Sage
Two new colours, Celadon and Sage, are now available for our Leuven Linen, a beautiful high-quality fabric with a crisp, elegant texture and a stone-washed effect, which comes pre-treated with a stain-repellent coating. Our existing range of four colours surprisingly did not include a green . . . so we added two for good measure!

LIGHTING
Additions to the Lighting Collection include new plaster pieces—the Draper Wall Sconce, Orfeo Standing Uplighter, Astral Ceiling Light and Curtis Table Lamp—which are all made in our British workshop. The tiered urn form of the Draper Wall Sconce is a classical silhouette constructed of cast resin, a contemporary material. Our Orfeo Standing Uplighter reflects a similar contrast; designed in the manner of Serge Roche, this piece is not only sculptural, but functional, as it also provides a generous amount of ambient lighting. As does the Astral Ceiling Light, which features an uplift disc design crafted using similar methods to those of traditional wood turning, but with plaster as the pliable base. The result is a graceful round fixture finished with smooth, undulating ridges and suspended by twisted rope fittings. The Curtis Table Lamp takes inspiration from vintage lighting produced in the 1960’s and is made from folded brass sheet metal which is then finished to an antique patina.

FURNITURE
An exquisite new writing desk designed in the manner of Maison Jansen, the Bamboo Desk features a faux-bamboo frame that is handcrafted of solid brass by artisans in our British workshop. Bespoke versions are also offered, as the black-lacquer writing surface and timber drawers can be custom made in various colours.
