Pair of 1950’s Audoux-Minet Chairs

A pair of Audoux-Minet oak and raffia woven rope occasional chairs in oak and raffia woven rope, France, 1950s.
Created by the French-Swiss husband-and-wife duo Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. The modernist duo mainly designed pieces during the 1940s and 1950s and their general ethos was to create furniture made out of accessible materials. Therefore, in their designs, they often opted for different kinds of woods and natural ropes. With their furniture, they wanted to go against the wealthy character of design and make pieces that are more homespun and have a rustic feel.
